Something terrible happened a while ago, and it's been bothering me for a long time now. So I'm going to rant about it.

Once upon a time, probably a couple years ago, there was a deviant named Alenald (no shitting, there was). He was (and still is) my favorite deviant. His style was unique. His ideas were bold. His work was refreshing as well as extremely entertaining not to mention tasteful.

One day, Alenald became dormant for a while. He didn't post anything or even sign into deviantart for probably around a year, or at least 8 or 9 months. When he did, I was truly shocked and dissapointed as to what he did.

Suddenly, Alenald wrote a final journal which stated he was ashamed of his past deviations and the entire account associated with them, and then, to my extreme displeasure, stopped using his account, deleting all the deviations in his gallery and left the name of his new account.

The name of this new account is "3-sided-blue".
I'm just one person, but I'm sure that if any of you did take the time and look at his new gallery, you'd find that what's missing is the life and vivacity I could only find in his old gallery, that is, the one he was "ashamed of".

Why he made his decision is beyond me. And when I think back and remember his old deviations, it really is heart breaking. I still can't see how he could possibly throw away everything he'd built up, even though he might no think of them that way.

If this journal ever gets to Alenald, my only thoughts are this:
Even if you started to think drawing fan-based art for an anime you realized you thought was lame was making you doubtful, I just hope you know how unique your old style and old gallery was, and that regardless, it's never really about the anime fan art is based off of, it's the actual art itself. And that it was something to be proud of.

You're still my favorite artist.
